This highly rewarding role is for a registered classroom teacher in our independent special school, led by the principles of Rudolf Steiner. The nature of being a teacher at Hohepa is unique and different, in the style of how we apply our curriculum.
You will have experience of working with ākonga/learners with special needs and be able to respond to the individual needs of a range of diverse learners in your class. Our mission of “every life fully lived’ is embedded in our practise, and our teachers encourage, stretch and guide learning with the support of a close-knit teaching staff, therapists and leadership group, our team of experienced teacher aides, and the wider Hohepa community.
You will have knowledge of how to engage and respond effectively with your learners, with an understanding of some of the challenging behaviours that you will sometimes encounter. You’ll be working in a supportive teaching environment with small class sizes and a strong focus on professional development and wellbeing.
We celebrate diversity and look forward to hearing about your special talents and interests, and what you think you’d contribute as a teacher at our school.
The ideal candidate will have a strong awareness of Te ao Māori and preference will be given to teachers with NZ Curriculum experience and the right to work in New Zealand.
This position commences July 20th (Term 3) or by agreement.
As an independent school the employment agreement will look different to the state special schools. To arrange a confidential conversation or to request an information pack please send your CV to Kristina Appleby, Prospero Teaching kristina.appleby@prosperoteaching.com
