Prospero Teaching is working in partnership with a progressive and highly regarded school in Central Otago to appoint an experienced and engaging English Teacher for the 2027 academic year.

The Role
We are looking for an English specialist with strong experience at senior level, particularly in English and analytical writing.
You will be confident in:
Identifying individual learning needs and adapting your teaching accordingly
Developing students' analytical and written communication skills
Teaching towards assessment criteria and helping students understand how to improve
Providing meaningful feedback and individual coaching
Differentiating learning within a small senior class
Using active, varied and engaging teaching approaches
The position also includes an Entrepreneurship component, so an understanding of business concepts and an ability to connect learning with real-world application would be highly advantageous.
What We're Looking For
You will be a qualified teacher who can build genuine relationships with students and bring strong subject knowledge to the classroom.
Experience teaching within New Zealand would be advantageous but is not essential. Teachers with strong international experience who can demonstrate transferable curriculum knowledge and an ability to adapt to the New Zealand education environment are encouraged to apply.
