Moving to the other side of the world is a big decision, especially when it means leaving behind family, friends and everything familiar.
For one secondary English teacher and their family, however, the move from the USA to New Zealand was an opportunity to start a new chapter, find a strong sense of community, and embrace a lifestyle centred around family and the outdoors.
Finding the Right Place to Land
When considering a move abroad, finding the right teaching role was a top priority.
As a secondary English teacher, they had a clear vision of what they were looking for.

"Even though we are meeting new people and making friends, it is still hard to be so far away from the people you love and familiarity."
