Prospero Teaching is currently seeking secondary Agriculture/ Horticulture teachers for opportunities within New Zealand.
This role offers the chance to share your knowledge and industry experience, helping students develop a stronger understanding of agriculture/ horticulture, sustainability, and primary industries.
Your Role: As an Agriculture/ Horticulture teacher, you will play a key part in guiding students through practical and theoretical learning in areas such as plant and animal science, agricultural technology, and environmental sustainability. You’ll help students connect classroom concepts with real-world experience and industry knowledge to prepare students who may look to navigate these types of positions post graduating from secondary education. You will be empowering students to explore future pathways within New Zealand’s thriving agricultural/ horticulture sector.
What Our Client Schools Are Looking For:
Strong science background
Strong subject knowledge and experience in agriculture/ horticulture (advantageous to have strong background experience in this field)
Ability to deliver hands-on lessons that inspire student learning
Excellent communication skills and classroom management skills
Availability to commence a new role in 2026
Must have the following:
Hold a eligible teaching qualification in secondary teaching from NZ or IQA assessment
NZ Teachers Registration (obtained or in process)
