If work life balance calling your name, then this role may be for you. Prospero Teaching are working with client schools across West Auckland to provide relief teachers for both casual day‑to‑day cover and teacher release.
Your role: As a casual reliever with Prospero Teaching, you'll have the opportunity to work across a range of year levels, from new entrants through to Year 8 intermediate students. You'll be able to take on a variety of assignments, from day-to-day relief to longer block bookings, depending on the needs of our client schools. In this role, you’ll step in for the regular classroom teacher, ensuring planned lessons are delivered effectively, students remain engaged and supported, and the overall quality of education and student well-being is maintained throughout your time in the classroom.

What our client is looking for:
Flexibility & adaptable
Demonstrated knowledge of culturally responsive teaching practices, including integration of tikanga, te reo Māori, and Pasifika cultural perspectives within the classroom
Curriculum knowledge and ability to deliver this to a variety of age groups
Able to support the current classroom lesson plan (based on the assignment) & able to crafting a lesson plan when required
Commitment to creating learning environments where all students feel valued, supported, and able to participate fully
Understanding the importance of community connection and strengthening relationships with whānau and wider school community
Confidence in using positive behaviour strategies and restorative approaches to support student wellbeing, resolve conflicts, and build positive classroom culture
To be successful, we are looking for teachers with:
A Level 7 Education Qualification in Primary/Secondary and/or NZQA-approved qualifications
Must have recent experience in a primary and/or intermediate classroom
Current NZ Teachers Registration
Must have NZ working rights
