About the Role:

The successful applicant will teach across a range of Hard Materials Technology subjects and play a key role in supporting students as they develop practical and design-based skills aligned with NCEA and BCATS frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:
 
  • Deliver engaging, hands-on lessons in Hard Materials Technology
  • Support students in developing practical, industry-relevant skills
  • Prepare and assess student work in alignment with NCEA and/or BCATS standards
  • Contribute to the development of a future-focused technology curriculum
  • Collaborate with a dedicated and forward-thinking department
  • Participate in co-curricular and whole-school activities

What We’re Looking For:
 
  • A qualified and registered teacher (NZTC or eligible to register)
  • Experience teaching Hard Materials Technology at the secondary level
  • Familiarity with NCEA and BCATS frameworks
  • A National Certificate in Carpentry Level 4 (advantageous but not essential)
  • A team player who thrives in high-performing, collaborative environments
  • Commitment to inclusive teaching and positive student outcomes
  • Legally entitled to work in New Zealand or eligible via accredited employer pathway
